The Cosmic Cushion Meditation Cushion is available in four sizes: Travel, Lowloft, Regular, and Oversize. Unlike the round Zafu meditation cushion on which you normally sit on the front half, you will sit fully on top of the Cosmic Cushion.

The Travel Size Cosmic Cushion
This is the smallest cushion, designed for easy transport. The lift is equal to the Lowloft at about 4½ inches, and the side extensions are shortened to reduce overall size for packing. It still takes up considerable space, but if you plan to attend a retreat without a comfortable cushion provided, it is well worth bringing.
The Travel Size is best suited for people with good to excellent flexibility who are shorter than 5’6” and of average weight. Even with limited flexibility or a larger frame, it is a better alternative than no cushion at all.
The Lowloft Cosmic Cushion
Similar to the Travel Size, the Lowloft offers the same 4½ inches of lift but with longer side extensions for better upper thigh support. Recommended for people with good to excellent flexibility who are shorter than 5’6” and of average weight. Taller people who know they need only about 4½ inches of lift will also prefer this size.
The Regular Size Cosmic Cushion
The Regular Size accommodates most people, offering 6 to 6½ inches of lift at the back. If you are over 5 feet tall, of average to somewhat above-average weight, and have good to limited flexibility, the Regular will work best. When in doubt, this is the most logical choice.
If you are unsure, the Buckwheat Hull fill is recommended — it is adjustable. Simply unzip the removable cover and the inner insert to remove some hulls and lower the cushion height. Kapok cannot be adjusted this way, though some people prefer it for its softer feel and lighter weight.
The Oversize Cosmic Cushion
The largest of the Cosmic Cushions, with more than 7 inches of lift and a wider, deeper footprint than the Regular. It is designed for people with limited flexibility — often the case for men — or for those who are taller than 6 feet or above average in weight. The extra lift and surface area provide the support needed for a comfortable, stable meditation session.
Choosing the Right Size
The goal of any meditation cushion is to help get the knees level with or slightly lower than the hips. This promotes a comfortable, upright posture. If the cushion is too high for your flexibility level, you may feel like you are falling forward or sliding down the slope.
When in doubt, choose the Regular Size. If you have the Buckwheat Hull version and find it too high, simply remove some hulls to adjust. If you have a Kapok cushion, you can knead it with your feet to flatten it slightly. And if you feel you’ve chosen the wrong size, we can work with you on an exchange.
