Sandalwood id believed to promote tranquility during meditation.
Meditation Malas are used for meditation practice to count breaths or mantra repetitions. Neck malas have 108 beads and a 'head bead' to indicate the end and beginning of each 108-bead count. The number of beads signifies the 108 worldly sins in the Buddhist tradition or as a multiple of '9' in the Hindu tradition. This number is also significant in many other religions. Each type of bead has its own significance.

Great mala, Great Price/Value, Great Seller
I am “mala minimalist,” but a mala can/should also be aesthetically pleasing. I like a mala that is elegant, but not ostentatious or distracting. I purchased two malas from Sage Meditation that are beautiful, well-made and practical. This mala is one of them. It has a traditional, timeless look and quality, and I am very happy meditating with it. I recommend Sage Meditation malas very highly.

sandalwood mala beads
I love them, I love having them, I love everything about them. They smelled wonderful right when I opened the package. They still smell great, just not as strong of a scent. I feel like they would be a good choice for anyone; also a great thing to wear just about anywhere. :-)
