The Zafu Meditation Cushion is the traditional round, pleated cushion used for sitting meditation. The Zafu is available with either Kapok or Buckwheat Hull fill. Kapok is a cotton-like fiber that creates a soft, spongy feel. Buckwheat Hulls are the non-food husk of the buckwheat grain. The hulls feel more firm, but conform to the shape of the body and create a comfortable, stable platform. The Zafu can be turned on its side edge and used for kneeling meditation known as Seiza.
Both types of fill are naturally organic requiring no chemical treatment. They are naturally resistant to insects and mold.
The Zafu is available in an economy model with the fill directly inside the 100% Cotton Twill fabric, or in a Deluxe model with the fill contained in muslin fabric and the Cotton Twill fabric cover is removable and washable.

Quality cushion, fast shipping
I love my new cushion. I chose the kapok filling after reading a suggestion about it being good for beginners. I received the cushion about a week after ordering it which is pretty good as compared with other sites I was looking at. I love that I can remove the cover to wash it. The cover is thick and I think it will hold up for many years.

Comfortable, firm
I have tried a few brands of these and I think this brand is the sturdiest, the kapock has very little give, but still gives a feeling of softness underneath. This cushion is quite raised, so the legs rest comfortably below, not requiring much flexibility.

Supported spine, clear mind
